You should compare the different parts side by sides to make the point clear. The video was very vague and unfocused and impossible to comprehend. This information was presented in a very confusing way. You should have been intelligent enough to see that. Did you do that on purpose, just to getting attention for marketing benefits? Do it right, do not waste our time.

Just curious about how many people choose to go with Part A, Part B, Part D and then skip the supplement plan. I've been on a HDHP for 20 years, so 20% of cost up to max out of pocket doesn't sound all that bad.

My wife and I are moving from Long Island NY to Delaware in Spring of 2025 We are both on "N" but even that in NY is a big nut. Will we have to stay on the NY Plan after we move until Open enrollment in October 2025?

    • @AbtInsuranceAgency

Moving to a new state is not a “special enrollment period” for Medigap insurance. You will be able to keep your NY plan N forever, no matter where you move. However once you move to DE you may want to shop your Plan N options for a lower rate, as long as you can medically qualify. Call us for help or with questions! 888-465-9728

MA is VERY much like employer group plans and especially ACA. If you've been on either of those preauths and cost sharing is expected. Its zero dollar premiums not deductible for MA. This does not seem that scary compared to ACA. Ive had an insurer that says their doctors are in network and then find out they wont take the insurance! Thats stress. Not getting a pre auth. Thing that no agent on here talks about is the fact that if you stop working at 65 you get TRIAL RIGHT PERIOD with MA as you start Part A/B and Advantage on the same day. You get a year to try Advantage and if you dont like it you can switch to Supplemental. Im thinking about MA with a cancer rider. Agents rarely talk about the double digit year over year costs increase of Supplemental plans into your 80s. Many on Supplemental have great insurance but want out because theyre eating cat food to afford their Supplemental plan.

My closest friend had great supplement plan. She only told her daughter, but she dropped it, got in an Advantage plan. At 84 she would NOT listen to her daughter and did it. She had a brain aneurysm 8 months later, and two months later, still hospitalized.. She is being moved to an expensive rehab. Her daughter said the bills are astronomical. The Advantage plan rejected every single thing to make you fight for each separate coverage. Had she not been so cheap, everything would have been covered. I myself was underwritten four years ago for plan G. Yes it’s expensive, I was in ICU for a month with heart failure, a $100,000 Surgery followed by three weeks in rehab, and home rehab for three months. Cost to me??? Zero, yup, big fat zero!! Another heart surgery in Oct. cost…..zero! Think long and hard. My friend had a nice nest egg…………gone!

Income thresholds may change over time. And if you sell a home and your AGI jumps then you may have a year of paying more because of IRMAA. You can always try to appeal, but selling a home doesn't typically qualify as a life change event.

Respectfully, I love your videos and I've learned some things from them - but this one is a bit "off". Allow me to explain. 1. Rate increases happen with ALL plans - this is not specific to G 2. "May" being the operative word. Insurance companies raise rates based on class/state/and other factors - not just because of the plan designation (i.e., N, G,, A, etc) so not really a "G" thing. 3. Never seen a company or an agent that only offered G. When consumers say 'I don't want copays": Plan G. "I don't want a bill" : G is the only plan that covers Part B excess charges! "I want a fixed cost so I don't have to worry"" Plan G. It's just very often the right choice. Plan N does NOT cover excess charges which leaves a huge amount of risk for the consumer. If you're excruciatingly healthy and rich, the other plans are fine. For pre-existing conditions? Limited income? less worry? Plan G every time. 4. This is not particular to G either; none of the medigap plans offer prescription, dental, vision, hearing, long term care or pay excess charges (only plan G pays excess charges). They WILL pay for medically necessary (not routine) issues related to mouth reconstruction, eye surgery, hearing surgery etc., things like that resulting from injury or disease. While long term care is not covered, the first 20 days in skilled nursing usually are although some plans don't. Concerning changing plans, going down from G does not require underwriting. Going from a lesser plan to G always does require underwriting because you're taking on more coverage. Just like going from an A to an N would also require underwriting. The only medigap plan (I know of) that does offer some extra benefits is Physician's Mutual and they have a regular G, High Deductible G, and a patented hybrid G that has a vanishing deductible after the 3rd calendar year at a lower cost than regular G but more than the full, permanent high deductible G. They provide a Silver & Fit membership, you can change Letter plans within the first 24 months, they cover Life Line Screenings and Thermal Mammograms. They don't spend money advertising but rather use it to beef up their funds so plans have historically single digit increases, if they increase at all, generally in the 2-5% range. You're welcome to call me for more information 430.999.2271. Thanks for all you do to educate consumers and agents.

The runaway drug costs is what is causing this. Insurance companies have to pay what drug companies charge. Until Washington put limits on drug prices this is going to continue. It's infuriating. No other countries pay the drug prices we pay. So many pockets are being line with these "14,000 shot" someone gets. A medicine shot costs $4.00, the rest is profit to split. No one in government is going to help because they all have their pockets open for the profits. Big Pharma, Insurance companies, lobbyists, and Senators all have their pockets open. And we keep paying because we have no choice. There has to be an answer to stop this insanity!
